“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” – Romans 12: 10-13
Giving of one’s time, talents, and treasure is a powerful expression of living one’s faith as well as an important spiritual practice, which is why we (and many other churches) collect the offering during worship. Your faithful contributions fund not only the life of our congregation – our worship, music, Christian education, and mission / outreach programs, but also our service in the community and in the world. (See the chart below depicting how your contributions are used by the church.) Giving regularly ensures a reliable stream of resources which can fuel and direct our ministries in the congregation and beyond.
Recently many churches have started encouraging their congregations to use electronic giving as a convenient way to schedule recurring gifts to the church. We’re glad to offer this automatic funds transfer program that will facilitate one-time or regular contributions.
Here is how it works: Simply authorize a specified amount of money to be electronically transferred directly from your checking or savings to the church account, or charged to your credit card. You also specify the frequency of the transfer. Our church provides a donation statement for your tax records, and your bank or credit card statements also provide a record of transfer. You can change or cancel at any time. And because we believe giving is an act of worship, each week you can pick up an “e-giving” card to place in the offering plate, representing your giving as an exercise of faith.
